I wasn't quite sure what to make of Poisoned Soil at first, but the more I read, the more intriguing the story became. Author Tim Young has a very unique and visual writing style, and he also excels at creating living, breathing characters which possess amazing wit and clarity. It would be hard to classify this story in any particular genre, as it borrows from diverse styles from horror to suspense to thriller to magical- in effect creating a genre all of its own. The dialog is crisp and with the many twists and turns of the plot, the narrative pulls you in and keeps you spellbound right up to the very end. An excellent read with a little something for everyone, I give it five stars and look forward to reading more fiction from this unusual and talented author.Product details

Poisoned Soil Tim Young 9781479220212 Books Reviews
This is a beautifully written thriller that is original with a vivid storyline. It will make you rethink our relationship with food. The author does a good job of intertwining several different characters and stories together. Also, I loved how there were a lot of unpredictable twists and turns, which keeps you on your toes and always wondering what will happen next! I agree with some of the other reviewers that this book has a very Stephen King type of writing style. Great read!
What a good book!
Poisoned soil is a good story based on the life of a former Cherokee star quarterback who becomes injured and how that affects his decisions going forward in life.
It's a classic tale of greed, ambition, and justice. It follows the main character, Blake Savage, from his early history into the world of supper clubs.
The characters of Blake, Angelica, and Ozzie are well done and the inclusion of the Cherokee culture adds a mystical element as well.
The story has an excellent twist and is recommended reading.
The story was alright, a little odd for my taste, but it gets the point across, sort of. Feels a bit like a lead in for other books, so you can get the real story behind the story kind of thing. I think that is done a lot lately, that or the lead in to the next book, that is another common tactic with modern writers.
Still it is a good story, not hard to read, and although a little forced and predictable, it is a short read so it doesn't try to keep you waiting for the end.
This is for anyone that cares about the environment, and wants a quick afternoon read.
I must say this book just blew me away. After I figured out where it seemed to be going I was captivated to get there.
It is original in many ways and ties together nicely in the end. This is one of the best books I ever read and I read
a book or two weekly. This is one you won't soon forget because it is different and loosely relevant to our times. I also want to mention that the character development is very good.
Plus it is a lot of fun. Lastly, I am so happy that we can read books written by anybody who wants to write one and puts it out on a . If you miss this author, you are missing a lot. Just a terrific read. Thanks to the author for such a great story.
This book is different. An agrarian thriller with moral issues? Hmm...
Anyway it took three tries before I settled in for the journey. My initial thought was that it was pretty slow. But I really liked the author's Accidental Farmers and I'm familiar with the area where the story takes place. Maybe you just have to be in the right mood!
The third time had the charm. Like climbing a mountain, the book slowly ascends through the foothills and then ramps up to weave the plot through the switcbacks of the steeper wilds. By this point you will be hooked!
I know. I've been there.
I hope the author continues to write.
This book was very different. It lets your imagination soar. It doesn't clearly point out what is happening but makes you think what is happening.
This gripping story of old legends and even older beliefs tells of the poor and needy trying to get by and the rich and greedy trying to get more. Blake looking to recapture the fame and promise of riches of his youthful days, his beautiful wife Angelica, wanting nothing more than a simple life with her loving family and a baby of her own . But the land has been cursed by an evil so old it has been forgotten. But...Evil never forgets and does NOT GO AWAY. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT BOOK. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT TO ALL.
